Q: How is coaching different than teaching? A. Coaching assumes the student has existing knowledge and has a desire to utilize their knowledge and skills more effectively. It also believes the student would benefit from accountability and feedback to enhance current professional efforts. Finally, coaching assumes the student values learning from their peers.
Q. Is coaching like therapy or Supervision? A. No. Coaching isn't therapy, job counseling, or a class. It also isn't venting about a weight-centered position, injustice, or peer. While these frustrations are normal and expected, coaching helps the professional use their resources and opportunities to grow professionally despite these obstacles being present.
